Cracks in Sauna floor

Due to the organic nature of our cedar wood and wood in general, hairline cracks may appear due to the expansion and contraction of the wood from the internal sauna temperature. These cracks are only aesthetic and do not affect the sauna's ability to perform.

However, occasionally larger cracks can form in the solid wooden floor over time. This generally only occurs when there is a much higher volume of foot traffic coming into the sauna, most so in commercial saunas than residential.

Firstly, we suggest waiting to see if the crack expands over time (4 weeks from now). After that, we can reassess the situation and then work to resolve accordingly – of course if the cracks get worse in the meantime please don't hesitate to get in touch with our Customer Care team.

Additionally, we always advise that sauna users place a towel on the floor to make the sauna session experience more comfortable for the underside of the feet and to stop sweat/moisture from dripping onto the untreated wood floor and causing stains. This will also prevent exposure to the cracks.
